Need a bit of inspiration for your day? We’ve found three things going on in Canary Wharf and east London for you to do.

1. Mix ballet with your lunch

If you’re heading for an al fresco lunch, enjoy a performance by the New English Ballet Theatre .

The dancers will bring arabesques, demi pointes, jeté and pirouettes to the estate for the first time. It’s free to watch.

Another freebie. black and white comedy Penny Points To Paradise has been digitally restored by the BFI and will be screened in Canada Square.

Starring Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe the hour-long flick tells the tale of two contest winners plagued by fortune hunters and counterfeiters.

3. Loosen your load

However many women are currently on your mind, The Alter Eagles’ take on The Eagles’ rock classics at Boisdale of Canary Wharf should help out.

Enjoy two hours crammed with hits including Hotel California and One of These Nights. Tickets cost from £7.50.

Why not grab a picnic and settle down with friends and family to watch some of the highlights from the Tour de France on one of the big screens in Canada Square Park.
