Need a bit of inspiration for your day? We’ve found three things going on in Canary Wharf and east London for you to do.
1. Take the kids to a free play.
A magic pot which won’t stop producing porridge? A walking, talking Gingerbread Man? Jubilee Park is set to play host to the unusual Children’s Theatre Festival.
Puppets, pop-up sets and original music is set to take over the park, with perfect fare for fussy foodies and discerning diners. What’s more, it’s free!
Jubilee park, 3pm
2. Run your heart out.
Taking place in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is the 10K Great Newham Run. Each participant gets to have their own Olympic moment, as they are allowed to finish their run inside Stratford’s Olympic stadium.
ArcelorMittal Orbit, Olympic Park. Start times: 9.30am-12.15pm.
3. Have a big one.
The Isle of Dogs big weekend is something the whole family can enjoy. Organised by six local churches, the event features bouncy castles, inflatable slides, games and craft activities – and even a free barbecue.
Millwall Park, Isle of Dogs, 11am.
