So Sunday is here, and if you want more than a few burnt roasties and an Only Fools and Horses re-run, here are three things you can enjoy in east London.

1. Get the gloves on

From acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua comes Southpaw, a heroic drama set against the world of boxing starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent. Showings are at the Everyman Cinema, Canary Wharf. Tickets are £14.50-£17.

2.30pm and 9pm, Crossrail Place

2. Don’t break the cycle

Get your helmet on, as Prudential RideLondon’s Surrey 100 will see thousands of amateur cyclists setting off from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and tackle a 100-mile course to Surrey, which finishes on the Mall. There will also be a business relay with teams of four riders each taking on 25miles.

6am, Stratford

3. Go back to school

Open days at the Ragged School Museum give visitors an idea of what it would have been like to be a student at the time using the museum’s replica classroom and Victorian kitchen as a backdrop. Entry is free but a donation of £2 is suggested for those wanting to take part in a class. Suitable for all ages and it’s free.

2pm, Bow
