In Concert Big Time, a celebration of the life and work of Lionel Bart, is set for three performances at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Billed as a joyful tribute to “the genius of British musicals and pop music” , the audience can expect a playlist of classics including I’d do Anything, Do you Mind, Livin’ Doll, Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be and Consider Yourself.

The show will chart Lionel’s life from childhood to his first forays into songwriting and his time with Joan Littlewood and her Theatre Workshop Company before recounting tales of his West End successes and failures.

There will, of course, be much mention of his greatest achievement – creating the book, music and lyrics for Oliver.
