Pop Icon and multi-million selling artist Rick Astley has announced a full UK Tour for April 2016 to coincide with the release of his new album.

Tickets for the show on Friday, April 8, go on sale on Friday, November 20, at 9am here.

The star, whose career spans more than 28 years, has sold more than 19million records and has a string of eight consecutive top 10s under his belt.

More recently he became known to a new generation of young music lovers, having his songs featured in hit US comedy Family Guy. He also became the subject of one of the internet’s first viral memes Rick Rolling.

Aged 21, Astley’s debut single Never Gonna Give You Up reached the top of the charts within two weeks of its release.

The song went on to reach number one in 16 other countries including most of Europe, Japan, United States and Australia.

However, the artist suddenly left the music business in 1991, but would become a surprise celebrity with the internet generation in the mid-2000s.

Rick Rolling saw YouTubers entice viewers in with an interesting video title, only for it to play Astley ’s video for Never Gonna Give You Up, winning him a new legion of fans.

To date, his video for Never Gonna Give You Up has received 155million views on YouTube, making it one of the most watched in history.

Following shows in 2004 after a 13-year hiatus Astley re-discovered his love for playing live, gradually increasing his international gigs and he continues to tour all over the world.

As well as a sell-out UK tour in 2012, Rick opened up for Peter Kay’s record breaking 2011 stand-up tour and has performed at numerous large outdoor events and festivals every summer.
