Actress Gillian Anderson will be attending MCM London Comic Con at the Excel centre to promote new sci-fi adventure Robot Overlords.

The former X-Files star will appear on a panel to discuss the movie alongside alongside writer/director Jon Wright at May 22 at 5pm.

Robot Overlords is a British-based movie, a home-grown homage to the action films of the 80s, depicting the growing resistance against a fearsome invading army.

A scene from Robot Overlords

Robots rule the streets and the people are locked in their homes. Just stepping outside risks being vaporised by a hulking Sentry or picked off by a lethal Sniper.

From the ruins of Britain, a group of kids led by Callan McAuliffe (The Great Gatsby) set out to join the Resistance. But hot on their heels is their old teacher turned robot collaborator Mr Smythe, played by Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3), and his captive Kate Flynn, played by Gillian Anderson (The X-Files).

The film is available to own in July.

MCM London Comic Con is the UK’s biggest modern pop culture events, taking over the Excel between May 22-24. Also in attendance will be stars from Once Upon A Time, NCIS: Los Angeles, Falling Skies and Jekyll and Hyde.
