A London estate agency is going from strength to strength after opening a new office in Canary Wharf.
Savills held an event at its new flagship branch in 20 Canada Square to thank staff and clients for their continued support during its expansion into east London.
Head of sales for Canary Wharf and Poplar Lauren Ireland said: “We have reopened our flagship office in Canary Wharf. It is more than double the size of our previous office.
“There is a lot of residential development in the area and, with the amount we were expanding, we felt we needed a bigger site.”
Savills’ recent success in London has arguably made it one of the leading lights in London’s ever-more lucrative property market.
This has been helped by the company’s eastward expansion, which Lauren feels should be top of buyers’ lists.
“Across east London in general, we are seeing an appetite,” she said. “Woolwich and Lewisham are up and coming areas, but we are focusing more around the Royal Docks and out towards the eastern edge towards Essex.”
The official opening was marked with a launch party, which gave a chance for staff and property investors to meet with clients and discuss ways to take the business forward.
And for the future? Lauren said Savills wanted to take the lead when it came to expertise on the housing market around the area.
She said: “We want to have a presence all around east London.”
