Get your foot tapping moves ready for an evening of country music in the heart of Canary Wharf on July 23.
Country Collective features 20-year-old twin sister music duo Ward Thomas and will be compèred by country music radio presenter Baylen Leonard with support from Callaghan and Raintown.
20-year old twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas from Hampshire will be performing new songs and tunes from their debut album From Where We Stand, which secured them UK Album Of The Year Award at this year’s British Country Music Awards.
The pair were catapulted into the music world after two respected Nashville session musicians heard a rough demo of their track Footnotes.
Lizzy said: “We’re looking forward to sharing our new songs. We’ve never been to the area and I don’t know what we’re expecting other than to have really good experience and a great audience - We can’t wait.
“We want to share the authenticity of country music with people. What Catherine and I are trying to do is share the melodies and harmonies. It’s all about real stories and background. We write our songs about growing up on the farm in Hampshire where we were inspired by Dixie Chicks.”
The duo have a busy summer on the cards with performances at CarFest, Hyde Park, Secret Garden Party and Summer Time.
Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf, July 23, 7pm, free.
