Experience a taste of the magical city of Venice in the heart of Docklands this summer.
Columbia Restaurant has decked out it’s waterside terrace with glinting gondolier poles, gondola-style booths and candlelit lanterns for a pop-up inspired by the Italian city.
Terrazza On The Thame s is being hosted with Italian wine specialist Bolla which will be serving up Prosecco and cocktails throughout the spring and summer, including Venice’s signature drink the Bolla Bellini.
In keeping with the carnival theme a special food menu has been created, featuring tapas-style dishes for sharing and pizza cooked in an oven on the terrace.
Columbia’s general manager Howard Lewis said: “We are right on the Thames and overlook Canary Wharf so there is a great backdrop.
“We are also the only Thames-side hotel in the area to have a private pier and we encourage guests to arrive by boat. The ferry from Canary Wharf is free if you are staying or dining here.
“This is the first time we have had the terrace open for the full summer and it is a great place to unwind and have a few drinks.”
Live music will keep visitors entertained on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights and, on Thursday, June 23, you can get caught up in a whirlwind of coloured silks, masks, live music and revelry as the Carnevale di Venezia descends for one night only.
The ticketed event will give guests the opportunity to win their very own trip for two to Venice.
Terrazza On The Thames, open daily from 4pm, until September 30, Columbia Restaurant
