If the Everyman in Crossrail Place is too close to the office and its menu not quite flash enough, Canary Wharf workers may be tempted by a recently launched food and film pairing in the City.

Held on Saturdays, Malmaison London’s Gourmet Cinema Club costs £64 for two, covering access to the hotel’s private screening room, furnished with sofas and armchairs.

Guests braving the 34-minute journey from the Wharf will also receive a glass of fizzy wine, snacks such as mini burgers, popcorn and giant cookies and an edible ticket (this may or may not have a rich flavour, we don’t know).

Forthcoming films include Romeo And Juliet on July 16, ET on July 23, The Never Ending Story on July 30 and The Notebook on August 6.

Screenings typically take place at 1pm, 4pm and 8pm, although this varies on some Saturdays. Doors open 30 minutes before each screening. Bookings should be made online with vouchers valid for eight months.
