Chef James Martin has revealed his food hell ahead of the BBC Good Food Show Summer London at Excel .

“Baby camel baked in the ground for two days, it was horrific,” he said, when asked about the most unusual thing he’s ever eaten.

The lover of roast beef left viewers distraught after saying goodbye to his presenting job on Saturday Kitchen.

But fans can catch up with him at the three-day festival at Excel in Royal Docks on Friday, May 20-22 where he will be telling us what we should be cooking this summer and how.

He said: “To be honest I did not think anyone would be bothered about me leaving the show, but how wrong I was.

“The response from the public over the last five weeks has been incredible.”

But when asked if anything could entice him back he simply said “Next question,” so it’s fairly safe to assume he won’t be returning anytime soon.

He will be joined at BBC Good Food by celebrities such as Davina McCall, John Torrode, Tom Kerridge, Paul Hollywood and Hemsley + Hemsley who will all be cooking tasty summer dishes in the Supertheatre, appearing around the show in live interviews and meeting fans face-to-face at book signing sessions.
