The passion and flavour of Madrid has spilled out onto the street at Ibérica La Terraza , which has reopened in time for the warmer weather.
The al fresco restaurant is in a leafy corner of Cabot Square, across the road from the established Ibérica Restaurant at Canary Wharf.
The space was created in partnership with Catalan designer Lázaro Rosa Violán to bring a real flavour of Madrid’s terrace culture to the financial district and attracted 23,000 over the summer months in 2015.
It is open for brunch through to the evening offering, which includes a selection of bespoke cocktails and a selection of tapas created by Ibérica’s executive chef Nacho Manzano.
He said: “It’s impossible to imagine Ibérica without our Canary Wharf restaurants. I’m so proud that we’ve grown alongside one of the most exciting areas.”
Dishes on the menu include Huevo rotos, garlic prawns, fried squid with lemon alioli and a range of fresh salads.
The bar serves up cocktails, sangrias, Cava and more with the option to try the challenge of drinking gracefully straight from a Porron – a large glass pitcher with a long spout.
Events over the summer include a gin and tonic masterclass, summer party with live music and live paella cooking demonstrations.
