The London Coffee Festival returns to the capital at East End stalwart the Old Truman Brewery from April 30-May 3.
More than 250 coffee roasters wil be at the Allegra Events showcase and here are five highlights to look out for.
1. Coffee Masters Competition
Watch international baristas battle it out in a series of challenges testing their skills to the limit. Competitors, including UK Brewers Cup Champion James Bailey from Workshop, will be judged on their talents in cupping, brewing and latte arts as well as their ability to whip up a 10-drink order.
2. The science of espresso
La Cimbali staff show how coffee reacts under pressure using its M100HD machines to highlight a naturally sweet taste that is often overlooked.
3. The Make Decent Coffee Lounge
Put your skills to the test, as the Team at ThreeSixtyº Coffee offer tips and advice before encouraging you to try your hand on the aeropress, brave the V60 and come out tops with the cafetiere.
4. Assembly blend
Before all that you’ll need to create your espresso blend by bringing together nine single origin coffees. Assembly has teamed up with Volcano Coffee Works to help out.
5. La Marzocco’s True Artisan Cafe
It’s party time with caffeine at its core as some of Europe’s best baristas – including those from Notes and Shoreditch Grind – mix up signature drinks and cocktails all to a lively soundtrack of House music provided by a live DJ.
