Sometimes a hot toddy just isn’t enough to ward away the winter chills.
So we’ve picked three places in east London for Canary Wharf workers to snuggle up in warm blankets – or steaming water – over the festive period.
1. Off Piste
Vintage ski props and super soft furry blankets set the backdrop for this winter pop-up on the terrace at Plateau , overlooking Ice Rink Canary Wharf in Canada Square.
It will remain open until February, so there are plenty of opportunities to indulge in the winter warming cocktails and seasonal dishes on the grill menu.
Bookings via email to email@example.com.
2. Lodge d’Argent
This apres-ski theme bar at City eatery Coq d’Argent takes inspiration from a traditional French chalet albeit one covered in miniature polar bears and snow globes.
Expect blankets galore, although the terraces are both heated and covered. The menu features venison burgers and chestnut macarons.
Bookings via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
3. Apres-ski hot tub
Supper Tub was so last season – this East End hotspot has started calling itself Soak and promises a “ski party atmosphere”.
Organiser Adam Taffler has kitted out Soak , the al fresco space at Hackney’s Number 90 Bar, with wood-fired hot tubs as well as 1980s ski suits, Austrian ski instructors. Refreshment-wise there are boozy hot chocolates, schnapps and festive fare.
A session costs £20 for two hours per person (prices vary for special events) and the pop-up will close on January 1, 2016.
Closes on Friday, January 1, 2016.
