Fancy ditching the dining table and feasting al fresco

Or, simply, can’t be bothered to cut your own crusts off? Don’t worry, plenty of places will take care of that for you. Here are three of the best.

1 Carluccio’s, Reuters Plaza

The brand’s Taste Of Italia hampers are available in both meat (pictured) and veggie options, crammed with antipasti, savoury tarts, corn-fed chicken and courgette, mint and ricotta frittata. Strawberry tarts finish off the three-course feast for two, with a bottle of Prosecco thrown in for an extra £14.75 on top of the £45 price tag. Kids options are £10.

2 Le Pain Quotidien, Jubilee Place Mall

For its first hamper of foodie treats, the bakery has brought together a baguette, beetroot hummus and crudite, ham, gruyere and olives. There’s the option of a ham and cheddar or spinach tart with side salad and scones with cream and jam round off the al fresco grub.

Sparkling water is included in the £40 price tag - but for £8 extra the hamper includes wine.

3 Corrigan’s of Mayfair

Step up from a hastily-arranged hamper and Gingham blanket and plump for one east London’s most sophisticated picnics. Corrigan’s of Mayfair is not only compiling a luxury foodie selection for a summer time celebration – the eatery will send a personal butler to any location to serve it up, too. Munch on seasonal Irish and British fare including beef carpaccio, smoked eel and native lobster with citrus salad. Costs £1,000.
