Turkey gets its time in the spotlight a month ahead of Christmas as Thanksgiving celebrations make a tasty mark on east London on Thursday, November 26.
Whether you’re an all American girl or simply a Canary Wharf worker with a craving for a huge helping of comfort food, you’re in luck.
We’ve picked out the top three places where you can stuff your face with Stateside fare while raising a toast to spread the feel-good factor.
1. The Breakfast Club, Crossrail Place
This cool, quirky American-style diner is going big on Thanksgiving celebrations this year with three separate sittings.
Diners can chose to tuck into spicy pumpkin soup at lunchtime or save their slice of pumpkin pie and ice cream until teatime.
Meanwhile, mains of roast turkey and a veggie baked kale mac n cheese mean your mouth will be watering pretty much all day.
Sittings at 3pm, 6pm and 8.30pm. £28pp.
2. The Pearson Room , Canada Place
Here you’ll find pumpkin pie with a personal touch.
The Pearson Room’s head chef Tim Tolley makes the signature Thanksgiving dessert as a tribute to childhood memories of grandma Bessie Cherry Grogan.
Before that, a hearty clam chowder and turkey dished up with chestnut and sage stuffing, sprouts and bacon and cranberry sauce await.
All day, £35.
3. Big Easy Bar.B.Q and Crabshack , Crossrail Place
The latest addition to Canary Wharf’s foodie scene boasts “jazzed up gravy”, the “best ever bean casserole” and Grandma Emma’s apple cranberry chutney for its November 26 offering.
The goodies accompany pit smoked turkey but non meat eaters can get their foodie fix with lobster and fries.
All the dishes, including butternut squash soup and key lime pie, are served family style.
There’s even the Gobble Gobble - a drink in collaboration with whisky brand Wild Turkey - to wash it down with.
