Well wonder no more as we have all the info from behind the scenes at Theatre Royal Stratford East and Greenwich Theatre who are showing Robin Hood and Red Riding Hood this year.

Greenwich Theatre with Red Riding Hood:

  • 27 show staff and cast put the show on each day
  • There are 28 kilos of glitter on the set
  • 26.75 miles of streamers will be fired over the audience during the run
  • 470 pyros will be set off during the run
  • 19 kilos of confetti will be used during the run
  • 22392 sound effects will be used during the run

  • This year 32,190 paper aeroplanes are being printed and if you wanna find out why you’ll have to go see the show
  • 105 litres of paint, button polish and glaze have been used on the set
  • The set consists of 1,000 mirror tiles
  • First design meeting for the show was in February as it takes a whole year to produce a panto (and get it right)
  • One of Marians costumes includes 10 metres of fabric
  • If you were to take all the physical tickets sold from last year’s pantomime and put them together it would be a distance of 2.6 miles, that’s from Theatre Royal Stratford East to Museum of London Docklands
  • Each cast member will perform for 9,636 minutes through the run (73 performances)
