The Wharf’s exercise guru, Laura Williams who is qualified in pre-and-post natal fitness and has recently launched a Pilates-based fitness classes for mums at Burrells Wharf on Thursday mornings , will be speaking at the show on its first day – Friday, February 19.

She said: “I’ll be telling mums that exercise works in so many ways when you’re pregnant – it can help to reduce varicose veins and cramps and enable you to control weight gain.

“It’s vital to remember you don’t need to commit to a drastic exercise regime either – you can use your daily walk to maximise both fitness and calorie-burning benefits by varying speed and including hills, for example.

“Another idea might be to put a Swiss ball to good use by employing it for wall squats, bridges, pelvic tilts or simply as a seat.

"But don’t get too intense. As a general rule, you should be able to hold a conversation as you exercise. If you become breathless, then you’re probably exercising too hard.”

Entry to the show is £20 on the door .
