The first walkout by Tube drivers will be between 9.01pm on May 16 and 9pm on May 20, followed by a second strike between 9.01pm on June 13 and 9pm on June 17.

00jul17transport11.JPG The 48-hour strike on the Docklands Light Railway planned for tomorrow and Friday was dramatically halted this afternoon following a last minute High Court ruling.

London's High Court granted an injunction preventing a planned 48-hour strike on the DLR after declaring there had been technical errors with the ballot.

00jul17transport11.JPGThe Docklands Light Railway is set to be hit by strikes on Thursday and Friday after members of the RMT union voted in favour of industrial action.

If the strike goes ahead Serco Docklands aims to run DLR services from Tower Gateway to Mudchute every 5-10 minutes, from 7am to 7pm.

Unite, the union representing the fish porters at the market, has warned that the decision will "destroy" its heritage.

In Silvertown, not far from the docks, a road named Ben Tillett Close pays tribute to a man who was instrumental in unionising the dock labour force of the late Victorian era.

Bristol-born Ben Tillett (1860-1943) left his sailing career to become a London docker before forming the Tea Operatives and General Labourers' Union.

Industrial action by DLR workers has been suspended pending fresh talks in the ongoing dispute over new rosters.

As reported in The Wharf, members of the Rail Maritime and Transport Union were planning a walk-out on Monday afternoon for 24 hours.
