The panic surrounding swine flu is beginning to subside, according to a Canary Wharf doctor.

Following the outbreak in early summer, the reported number of cases has dropped considerably.

Canary Wharf businesses are signing up to a phone plan which diverts calls if their buildings are plagued with swine flu.

Several major firms on the estate have already taken advantage of BT's Voice Continuity Directed Recovery plan, which allows them to set up contingency plans which can be activated when offices become no-go areas.

The first case of swine flu has been confirmed at the One Canada Square headquarters of Trinity Mirror.

An unidentified employee of the media group has been diagnosed with the disease after being off work for the last two days.

Waitrose has revealed two more of its staff are now off sick with swine flu.

It follows the news last week that a member of staff at the Canada Square branch had the virus - believed to be the first person in Canary Wharf to contract it.

City Airport staff who worked alongside a swine flu victim have been given the all clear by their doctors.

A Travelex employee was diagnosed with the H1N1 sickness on Friday evening and has been off work since.

Test results on a sick worker at the Financial Services Authority have come back negative for swine flu.

The North Colonnade-based company sent a male member of staff home last week after he returned from the United States with flu-like symptoms.
