Mayor Boris Johnson has been the subject of a stinging attack from Poplar and Limehouse MP Jim Fitzpatrick for his handling of last week's snow-related transport problems in the capital.

In a letter to the London Mayor, Mr Fitzpatrick, who is the shadow minister for transport, attacked him for allowing London to 'grind to a halt for much of the week'.

Millwall.jpgMillwall's League One clash against Colchester tomorrow has been called off.


The heavy snow overnight has seen the fixture postponed for safety reasons. A date for the rearranged match has not been set.

A flurry of snow brought London's transport network to a grinding halt early on Monday morning.

Buses were suspended overnight and the Jubilee line was reduced to a limited westbound service as Transport for London came to terms with some of the heaviest UK snowfall in 20 years.
