A few weeks ago a thriving colony of swans was removed from Royal Victoria Docks.
Their presence was deemed as a threat to the aeroplanes landing at London City Airport and their absence was noted sadly by residents.

The swans were removed to another part of the country.

Fourteen adult birds and a number of eggs were removed from Millwall Park last month, prompting Islanders to launch a campaign to stop the cull, claiming they are feathered friends not parrot pests.

This weekend sees the welcome return to London of UK Aware. Friday and Saturday will see ethical and environmentally friendly suppliers and exhibitors displaying their wares to thousands of visitors at Olympia. Although we're not involved in organising the event we very much endorse the message that UK Aware aims to spread.

A rare British bird has been spotted roosting in the reedbeds of the Lee Valley.

Birdwatchers caught a glimpse of a pair of bitterns during an annual spotting event in the Lee Valley Regional Park. The bird is known to roost in the area during the winter months.
