Chris Powell's side shocked Reading on Tuesday night when their second XI comfortably overcome the Championship side.
The Addicks put out a completely different team to the one which drew with Scunthorpe in the league on Saturday and Powell admitted he now has some tough decisions to make after the fringe players entertained fans on their way to a 2-1 win.
The Carling Cup second round draw has been kind to West Ham, Charlton and Millwall with all three sides being handed home ties.

Henry, who played 16 games and scored three goals for the Lions during a loan spell last season, has signed until December 29.

We got a touch of festival fever last week with the Canary Wharf Park Sounds. Festivals on a slightly larger scale have become inescapable in recent years. Where once the summer began with Glastonbury and ended with Reading, there is now not a free weekend for months.

Charlton's 4-2 victory against Reading earlier this season seems to be a lifetime ago for the club's suffering fans.
Now, bottom of the Championship, Charlton face a side spurred on by a promotion hunt and a desire for revenge.

NEWLY-RELEGATED Reading are heading to The Valley on Saturday for a lunchtime kick off against Alan Pardew's former side.
Pardew is not expecting a good reception from the team he left West Ham for in 2003, but said he is just hoping Charlton will edge what promises to be a tough battle.
