London Marathon hits Canary Wharf

Wharf reporter Kay Lockett joined the 36,500 runners competing in the 31st London Marathon on Sunday.

We caught up with the race at mile 19 as Superman, Fred Flintstone and Kate Middleton complete with wedding dress battled through Canary Wharf in tempretures of up to 20 degrees towards completion the 26.2 mile route.

If like me you have secured a place in the Virgin London Marathon 2011, you will have experienced waves of panic, excitement and trepidation about the big race in April. This is my first marathon and I don't enjoy running but I felt compelled to take part in this physical and mental challenge this year, if only for a sense of achievement and excuse to get in shape.
