A second floor flat was damaged in a blaze at Albility Place, Millharbour on Friday night.

Around twenty people were evacuated from the building before the fire brigade arrived at 8.49pm.

Following a balcony fire at a sixth floor apartment in Indescon Square, near Millharbour this afternoon, firefighters confirmed that no one was in the apartment at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 12.51pm and four engines attended the scene. The fire was out by 1.36pm and the cause is unknown.

A teenage girl has been jailed for seven years after stabbing two people on the Isle of Dogs.
