They would like to speak to Brandon Hutchinson about the stabbing outside a shop on September 7. They believe Hutchinson is living on or near the Island.

Delta Beach.jpgPlans to use a beach on Greenwich Peninsula for live events attended by up to 3,500 people are to be reconsidered by Greenwich Council.

Dutch company Orange Connections have resubmitted an application to use Delta Beach, on the west side of the peninsula, for at least 12 events a year. Greenwich's licensing sub-committee will consider the new application next Wednesday.

Jasmine Choudhury, 33, of Stanliff House in Cassilis Road died at the Royal London Hospital on Monday. Police had been called to the property at around 7.30pm last Saturday and discovered Ms Choudhury suffering from head injuries.

Around 35 people attended the rally in Millwall Park last Sunday to try and stop the cull of the birds by the Department for the Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra).

A youth community worker has been sent to prison for a gang attack which left a teenager with stab wounds to his head, a fractured eye socket and a fractured back.

In a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Hashu Miah, 24, of Triton House in Cahir Street, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent over the incident on the Isle of Dogs in February.

The violence began at around 10.25pm when a gang of up to 60 youths attacked Tesco Express in Pepper Street.

The funeral has taken place of one of our local unsung heroes.

Former councillor and mayor Barry Blandford recently died aged 77 and his funeral was on Friday.

He was devoted to the people of this borough, where he had lived all his life.

A few weeks ago a thriving colony of swans was removed from Royal Victoria Docks.
Their presence was deemed as a threat to the aeroplanes landing at London City Airport and their absence was noted sadly by residents.

The swans were removed to another part of the country.

Fourteen adult birds and a number of eggs were removed from Millwall Park last month, prompting Islanders to launch a campaign to stop the cull, claiming they are feathered friends not parrot pests.
