Transport for London is reporting a "decent staff turnout" despite the launch of a 48-hour strike on the tube yesterday evening.

It stated that several members of the Rail Maritime and Transport union turned up for work today, reducing disruption on the underground as a battle over pay and redundancies rages.

Eastern Jubilee line services were shut down last night as police tried to talk down a woman threatening to hurl herself from a bridge.

British Transport Police stopped trains between North Greenwich and Stratford at around 10pm last night, as officers attempted to persuade the teenager not to throw herself onto the track.

A Jubilee line train travelling to Stratford was searched by police this morning after a report of a man concealing a gun.

Metropolitan Police officers scoured the eastbound train at West Ham following a tip off, but services returned to normal just before noon after no weapon was found.

DLR put "on hold" for person on track

DLR services stalled this morning after reports of a person on the track near Bank.

Trains were put "on hold" for nearly 15 minutes during the rush-hour, and a failed train later caused severe delays to the route in and out of the City.

Any problems? No problems on the Jubilee line, Thames Clipper and the DLR tonight, and no major issues on the roads.

Jubilee faces more delays

Jubilee line services to Canary Wharf were hit by suspension for the second consecutive working day.

Commuters were informed that a signaling fault prompted the temporary closure of the London Bridge to North Greenwich stretch. Morning services were also disrupted on Friday morning.

A signal failure at Canary Wharf is causing severe disruption for commuters this morning.

The fault led to the suspension of the Jubilee Line between North Greenwich and Waterloo, forcing workers to cram onto the DLR or seek out a Thames Clipper ferry.

Rotherhithe Tunnel and Branch Road will shut over the weekend as work continues on the extension of the Limehouse DLR station platform.

Transport for London confirmed the roads would be closed from midnight on Friday to 5am on Monday.

A flurry of snow brought London's transport network to a grinding halt early on Monday morning.

Buses were suspended overnight and the Jubilee line was reduced to a limited westbound service as Transport for London came to terms with some of the heaviest UK snowfall in 20 years.

Any Problems? There's trouble on the Tubes this evening with severe delays on the District line and minor delays on the Central line. But getting off the Wharf should be relatively easy as the Jubilee and DLR are currently reporting good services in operation. On the roads watch out for temporary traffic lights at Prestons Road Roundabout in Poplar.

Commuters and shoppers have been hit by delays on the Jubilee line.

A signal failure at Canada Water station left services delayed and running slowly and Transport For London urged travellers to find other means of transport.

A faulty train at Canary Wharf caused problems for commuters using the Jubilee Line this morning.

Passengers heading into work had to deal with severe delays on the line from 8.34am, and disruption continued throughout the morning rush hour.

THE Jubilee line is not looking too good following a broken down train at Stratford this morning.

Journeys were suffering severe delays for most of the afternoon and this has only just been downgraded to "minor".

The travel outlook is mixed for Wharfers on Thursday, July 24.

Jubilee line is running without problems, although there are minor delays on the the Circle and District lines.

The DLR is also running with severe delays due to a signal failure at Bank.

And if you are traveling south by car this evening then be aware that part of Greenwich High Road is closed due to a gas leak. Also expect congestion around the Excel Centre late on because of visitors to the Motor Show.

Monday transport misery

WHARFERS are facing long delays in getting to work today (Monday) with a part suspension on the Jubilee Line and problems on the DLR.

A signal failure at Swiss Cottage station prompted the closure of the Jubilee between Finchley Road and Waterloo, with services severely disrupted on the rest of the line.

Commuters heading to work on Tuesday morning (March 25) endured the total suspension of the line for an hour and a half, the latest in a string of rush-hour problems to have plagued the line since the New Year.

Penny Hazell, from Transport for London, is general manager of the Jubilee line and responsible for overseeing its performance. She spoke to The Wharf about the problems.

A different perspective
