Transport for London will begin a £70million refurbishment of the Blackwall Tunnel in early February.

The cross-river link - which was the world's longest underwater tunnel when it opened in 1897 - is to be fitted with new safety, lighting and communications systems.

Any problems? Madness, chaos and mayhem strike as the snow has turned to ice and the world has ground to a halt. TfL warns of major disruption to bus services while there are delays on the following lines: Circle, Hammersmith and City, Jubilee and Piccadilly. Meanwhile the Blackwall Tunnel is closed northbound due to a broken down vehicle. However, the DLR is working as normal.

A flurry of snow brought London's transport network to a grinding halt early on Monday morning.

Buses were suspended overnight and the Jubilee line was reduced to a limited westbound service as Transport for London came to terms with some of the heaviest UK snowfall in 20 years.

Any problems? There are a few problems on the Tube this afternoon, with minor delays on the Metropolitan line and the Hammersmith & City line is part suspended. The Circle line is completely suspended. Check the sidebar on the right for more details.
