Passers-by jumped to the rescue of a security guard who was being attacked in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The victim was left with facial injuries following the incident at about 3am in Admirals Way, Marsh Wall, after confronting a man he believed had been interfering with cars in the area.

The 40-year-old was walking with her children on Harold Road, E13 on March 24 when she was approached by a man who threw an acid over her.

A businessman was badly beaten in a suspected mugging in Limehouse on Tuesday evening.

The victim, who was aged 34, was assaulted at about 9.50pm as he walked along the footpath behind Dundee Wharf. Nearby residents heard the attack and ran to the scene to help the injured man.

A female commuter was hit in the face after objecting to her leg being touched inappropriately.

The 29-year-old charity worker from Tower Hamlets was on a Southern trains service travelling from South Bermondsey to London Bridge when she was attacked.

CCTV images of two men involved in a violent assault near Shadwell have been released by police as part of an appeal for information over the attack.

A victim was left with serious head injuries after he stepped in to calm an argument between two groups over a traffic incident.

An 83-year-old woman was tied up and assaulted after disturbing an intruder who had broken in to her Newham home.

Police have appealed for information on what they describe as a "cowardly and vicious" attack on the woman, who is still in hospital with serious injuries.

The 31-year-old man was mugged at around 6pm last Friday, close to East India DLR station, but even though plenty of people walked past as the incident unfolded.

Savaged cat dumped on neighbour's doorstep

A beloved pet was killed and left on a neighbour's doorstep on the Island last month.

Black and white cat Disco disappeared from a property on East Ferry Road on December 5, prompting his owners to go door-to-door in search of information. They were shocked to find him dead at the front of another house on the street two days later.

The victim was attacked close to Toronto House, as she walked from Canada Water Underground station along Albion Channel, near Surrey Quays Road, between 6-6.45am.
