Police have released CCTV pictures of a man wanted for a "vicious and unprovoked assault" on an Australian man near Westferry DLR.

The suspect, who is Asian and aged around 20 to 25 years old, left his victim with fractures to his skull and a broken nose, as well as broken ribs and fingers.

A walkway near Westferry is finally reopening after pressure from residents - but only temporarily.

The Thames Walkway along Riverside South has been blocked by site preparation work on the JP Morgan site, leaving residents, cyclists and walkers on Westferry Road cut off from the north side.

The redevelopment of the City Pride pub has been thrown into doubt after Irish property company Glenkerrin went into receivership.

The popular Canary Wharf pub was earmarked for demolition after Glenkerrin received planning approval two years ago to build a 62 storey tower on the land.

The arrival sees managing director Richard Bigg expand his brand on the back of the successful three-year old venue at Kings Cross.

The short history of Canary Wharf has seen the arrival of a vast number of firms from one-man-bands to the multi-national corporations.

Some, however, have been around the area since before One Canada Square rose up on the London skyline.

As late workers and midweek drinkers ambled to the DLR late last Wednesday, some spotted a slightly longer train pulling into the platform.

It may not have been in operation, but this was the first sighting of DLR's new three-car trains on the Bank to Lewisham line.

A "mid-market" hotel is being planned for land near Westferry DLR station.

Tower Hamlets Council has received a full planning application from Aitch Group for the construction of a 252-room hotel with conference rooms, a restaurant, cafe and bar.

Howard Smith, Chief Operating Officer, London Rail said: "During engineering works over the weekend to prepare the DLR network for three carriage trains, engineers working on a bridge at Poplar identified additional works would be needed this week.
