An old favourite has returned to Canary Wharf with La Vista reopening at West India's Quay's Via.

The restaurant has had a three year hiatus but has been brought back by the venue's new general manager Steve Edwards.

The Lloyds No 1 pub on West India Quay is being treated to a facelift worth more than £175,000, which features new furniture, a mahogany bar, a DJ booth and a fresh paint job.

The West India Quay market, which made a cameo appearance in this summer's festival, is returning to the area for what is hoped to be the first in a number of regular visits.

Up to 17 stalls will be open on the waterfront outside the Marriott West India Quay hotel between 10am and 4pm on Friday (tomorrow).

Bar 38 manager Steve Edwards is breaking down barriers after also taking over at West India Quay neighbour Via.

Steve was given the dual management role after previous Via landlady Sam Wells left last week.

Changing its selection, a process usually undertaken every six months, has allowed the West India Quay venue to bring a sunny feel to its offerings. And some of the dishes are already proving very popular with Wharfers.
