Police have released CCTV pictures of a man wanted for a "vicious and unprovoked assault" on an Australian man near Westferry DLR.

The suspect, who is Asian and aged around 20 to 25 years old, left his victim with fractures to his skull and a broken nose, as well as broken ribs and fingers.

Teen dies in Limehouse Cut incident

Police are investigating an incident in which a 15-year-old died after being dragged out of the water in the Limehouse Cut at around 6.20pm on Wednesday evening.

The teenage male was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital but was pronounced dead around two hours later.

A homeowner was horrified when they returned from holiday to find a group of homeless people had moved into their property.

The offenders broke into the address in Narrow Street, Limehouse, last October, drunk expensive bottles of wine and ate food from the fridge. They also left dog excrement all over the inside of the house.

A violent gang has been jailed after viciously beating a teenager with chains, sticks and poles.

At Snaresbrook Crown Court, seven men were found guilty of the attack which took place in Will Crooks Estate in Poplar on a Saturday night in July last year.

Two men were arrested on the Isle of Dogs in a police operation which saw £4,000 confiscated.

Officers were out in force around Tower Hamlets on Wednesday, with increased patrols resulting in five arrests and eight warnings for possession of cannabis.

A known trouble-maker who breached his ASBO and left his victim with permanent nerve damage in a vicious assault has been jailed.

Daren Davies, 21, of Violet Road, E3 was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for beating the man with a stick and lumps of concrete.

Limehouse PC Robert Nicholson, who had previously been found not guilty on criminal charges of two counts of sexual activity with the child, was dismissed at a misconduct hearing on Tuesday.

An appeal has been launched to trace a man wanted for a serious assault at a party on the Isle of Dogs.

Erikas Moderis, 24, is being hunted for the attack in Byng Street on December 16, 2007.
The public are advised not to approach the suspect but to call PC Otto Blom at Limehouse Police Station on 0300 123 1212.

Weapons found in Poplar Park

Police searching an area of Poplar Park as part of a council-run project to tackle issues of concern to the community discovered drugs and scores of weapons.

Officers visited the area next to the Will Crooks Estate last Friday and found 75 items, including knives.

A crackdown on a teenage gang saw seven arrests as well as shotgun ammunition and bags of cocaine seized.

The two-day operation funded by Tower Hamlets Council took place last week and saw dawn raids on 12 addresses on the island.

Bethaney Lamey, 18, of Millharbour, was sent to a young offenders institute for the attack, which took place in December, as well as an earlier incident that saw an 18-year-old girl hit with a baseball bat.
