sp-shooting142.jpgWork has started on building the London 2012 shooting venue at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich.

The Olympic Delivery Authority has released images of what the temporary venue will look like when it hosts the Olympic and Paralympic shooting competitions, as well as Paralympic archery. It is the final 2012 venue to start being constructed.

FF-feb25-woolwichartillery142.jpgWork is due to start next month on the venue for shooting at the 2012 Olympic Games but the much-touted iconic backdrop will not be visible to spectators during the event.

The Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, is listed on london2012.com as intended to "provide a stunning backdrop for the shooting, paralympic shooting and paralympic archery events," despite the fact that once inside the venue, visitors will have their view obscured by a safety net and exclusion zone.
