A Canary Wharf printer and part-time musician will be lining up alongside the likes of Madness at a concert in the Royal Festival Hall - all thanks to a celebrity fan.

The Slammers, managed by Neale Hobday - who also plays bass - will be one of the acts at the Southwark Centre's Meltdown Festival, directed this year by Ray Davies.

The Kinks' 1983 hit "Come Dancing" provides the inspiration for this energy-packed musical, set in the Ilford Palais - a 1950s dance hall similar to those frequented by Davies' elder sisters at the time.
