The organisers of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant have today revealed details of the 1,000-boat tribute to he Queen's 60-year reign.

One of the largest public events ever held in London, the Pageant will take place on Sunday June 3 on the river from Putney to Tower Bridge, with Greenwich and the Royal Docks used as operational areas.

queen142.JPGThe Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are coming to Greenwich on April 25.

The visit will celebrate the borough's new royal status and is part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour.

Royal River: Power, Pageantry and the Thames examines the river through its relationship to the monarchy, the city and the people of London and will celebrate 75 years of the museum in Greenwich.

The SAS Band is a star-studded ensemble of musicians put together by keyboard player Spike Edney.
