The river service linking The O2 arena to Woolwich Arsenal has been secured until 2013.

Transport for London announced this week that it had struck a £269,000 deal to subsidise the service for the next four years.

Thames Clippers new cross-river shuttle service has been hailed a success after it helped 7,000 fans get to and from The O2 last weekend.

As revealed by The Wharf last week, the boat service between the QEII pier in North Greenwich and East India pier was introduced on Saturday to give visitors an alternative way of getting to the venue when the Jubilee line was closed.
