Light-headed from our unrivalled celebrations of British Sandwich Week last week, The Wharf has decided to share some of its findings. It's hard to know whether the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, when, in 1762, he called for his manservant to bring him some cuts of beef between two slices of bread, was specifically thinking of Wharfers and their lunchtime needs, but his flash of brilliance has undoubtedly had a fundamental impact on their gastronomic lives.
