The Overground train route linking Stratford with north and west London is doubling the frequency of its services.
The announcement by Transport for London this week, will see four trains per hour at peak times as part of the 2012 Games legacy.
A large number of people are expected in central London on Friday for the Royal Wedding celebrations so TFL have issued some travel advice.
London's transport commissioner Peter Hendy, said: "We are working with our partners to ensure that everyone can get around safely and easily, and that people not involved with the celebrations can continue to move around the city with the minimum of disruption.
The new year got off to an expensive start for commuters as those heading back to work faced transport fare rises of up to 13 per cent.
The latest above-inflation fare hikes, which came into effect on January 2, will see passengers feeling the pinch with Tube, DLR and Overground, peak-time journeys in zone 1 rising from £1.80 to £1.90 and for zones 1 to 3from £2.70 to £2.90.

A strike by RMT and TSSA union members is set to affect Tube services from early this evening and throughout Tuesday September 7. Disruption is likely to affect most journeys so you may want to find alternative ways to travel tonight and tomorrow.
Although DLR and Overground services will be running, services may be impacted at stations such as Bank and Canning Town where operations are linked with Underground facilities.
