IT was the battle of the pop divas at The O2 this week when Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles attempted to enrapture London audiences.

Both 27, American and adored by fans, it was a huge week at the arena.

American hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash's gig at Matter in North Greenwich has been cancelled.

The musician was due to perform in the O2 arena club on June 12, but the event has now been scrapped due to a "timing issue".

Man bailed over O2 incident

A man arrested following a stabbing at a music awards at the Indigo2 has been bailed.

Greenwich CID have ordered the 21-year-old to return to a south London police station in January. It follows an incident at the Urban Music Awards at 10.10pm on Saturday night.

Doctor Death comes to The O2

A SELF-STYLED "Doctor Death" will bring a group of deceased bodies to Docklands tomorrow in a new exhibition.

In 1997, Doctor Gunther von Hagens invented plastination, a form of using fat and fluids to prevent dead bodies decaying.

Tickets go on sale today for the opening night at Matter, the new hi-tech clubbing venue at The O2.

The launch itself comes a month later on September 19 when trip-hop experimentalists Unkle, centred on producer James Lavelle, headline.
