A body has been pulled from the River Thames following a search for a man who fell in close to the Royal Docks on Tuesday evening.
The Met Police's Marine Support Unit recovered the man's body from the Newham stretch of the river at 1.43pm yesterday. Police said they know the identity of the man, in his 20s, but have yet to make a formal identification.
Unemployment figures in parts of east London have risen by almost 16 per cent over the last year.
