sculpture.jpgA sculpture by British artist Henry Moore is being returned to Greenwich Park more than four years after it was removed.

Moore's 1976 work Large Standing Figure: Knife Edge will be sited on its original plinth next week on a two year loan from the Henry Moore Foundation. It had stood on the spot from 1979 until 2007.

The O2 arena will host the artistic gymnastics, trampoline, basketball and wheelchair basketball during the 2012 games.

Temporary structures will be built to manage vehicle and pedestrian access at the venue, which will be known as the North Greenwich Arena during the Olympics.

Greenwich Council has approved the use of land in Woolwich for shooting and archery during the 2012 games.

The council's planning board agreed that the Royal Artilery Barracks site was suitable for Olympic and Paralympic rifle, pistol, trap and skeet shooting and Paralympic archery.

After seven years of being based on the south coast, Rum Jungle has decided to head to London to catch the wave of enthusiasm on the Thames of late.

Company director and entrepreneur Hugh Agnew said: “This year has seen a complete turnaround for us because there’s been a real sense of London using the river more."
