Canary Wharf Ice Rink might have melted away but before it disappeared it played a part in helping some polar racers with their training.

Team Icelated, made up of Wharfers Charlotte Byrne and James Davers, are taking part in the Polar Challenge race to the magnetic North Pole in April.

We might have thought it was pretty cold when the snow and ice hit London last month but one Wharfer was experiencing temperatures even more extreme.

Charlotte Byrne was in Norway, where the mercury never rose above -12 degrees celsius and dipped as low as -25 degrees.

Intrepid Wharfers looking for adventure can still claim a place in a team heading to the North Pole - but they had better be quick.

Wharf readers Charlotte Byrne and James Davers are in training for the Polar Challenge race next April but need one more hardy soul to join them in their quest to be the first team to reach the magnetic North Pole.
