Cantina Del Ponte142.jpgSnatching a slice of the unseasonably hot weather we dined outside at Cantina del Ponte, overlooking Tower Bridge on the banks of the Thames.

With the bridge lit up against the evening sky, the view alone was worth the trip and if you are looking for a slightly more wallet friendly alternative to next door's Le Ponte de la Tour, this place does not compromise on quality.

Food Review: Quadrato

four seasons142.JPGA vegetarian and a coeliac walk into a bar. Not the start of a bad joke or an excuse to close the kitchen but the beginning of an evening at Quadrato, the restaurant at Four Seasons Canary Wharf.

Our fickle summer forced us to abandon plans to eat on the terrace but the dining room's welcoming wintery palette of dark wood and burgundy plush fabrics made for a cosy alternative.

Dining at this hidden gem is a world away from Jamie Oliver's Essex-boy twist on classic Italian cuisine.

westham.jpgWest Ham emerged from a fractious encounter against Italian side Napoli relieved not to have added to their injury list.

What should have been a celebratory match degenerated into an ugly encounter as the visitors employed a less than friendly approach, culminating in one of their players being sent off for a bad challenge on Herita Ilunga.
