Island Homes has been given until the end of the month to make moves to restore residents to its board.

The housing association sacked its entire 15-strong board last April, citing "serious failures". But it was slammed for its "poor" service in a no-star review by the audit commission in November.

Housing association Island Homes has been given no stars following an investigation by auditors.

The group, which manages nearly 2,100 homes on the Isle of Dogs, has been told it is providing a "poor, no star service" in an Audit Commission report to be published on Thursday.

A ROW over services has sparked an overhaul of an Isle of Dogs housing board.

The entire board of Island Homes was dismissed by parent company One Housing Group (OHG) last week. The group – which acts as landlord for thousands of affordable properties across the Island – dumped the 15-strong board by letter last Wednesday citing “persistent serious failures in its duties.

But members have accused OHG of removing opposition so it can rush through service contracts before its performance is audited in July.
