Charlton stumbled to a 2-1 loss at Hartlepool on Tuesday night to give new manager Chris Powell his first taste of defeat.

The Addicks went behind in the first half when Andy Monkhouse scored but Nathan Eccleston equalised at the beginning of the second.

Millwall hold a slender lead in the closing stages, and have piled up a scruffy mountain of missed chances. The ball loops up to the back post, and a Hartlepool head meets it from close range. This time, however, their luck is in.

A stunning 30-yard strike from teenager Scott Wagstaff helped Charlton to a narrow victory at home to Hartlepool on Tuesday night.

The away side were keen to bounce back from a 5-0 drubbing against MK Dons at the weekend and proved difficult for the Addicks to break down.

Saturday's clash at The Valley between Charlton and Hartlepool has been called off.

Frost covers, which had been on the pitch since New Year's Day were not able to prevent the surface freezing and the club announced on Thursday morning that the game would be postponed.

It's generally accepted that a football game is supposed to last ninety minutes. But some don't quite make it that far.

Millwall arrived in Hartlepool on the back of a last-minute win over MK Dons, but were out of this game before it hit the half-hour mark.

Millwall will welcome back James Henry for the trip to Hartlepool - but Dave Martin may be unavailable with a groin injury.

The Lions hope to be able to notch their second win in a row after breaking a rough streak with over MK Dons.

There was an unusual feeling for Charlton fans on Saturday after their side recorded back-to-back league victories for the first time in 19 months.

First half goals from Deon Burton and Nicky Bailey helped Charlton to a 2-0 win at Hartlepool, making it two wins out of two matches so far this season.

The Addicks did not win back to back games all of last season and manager Phil Parkinson will be determined not to repeat that statistic this time.

With that in mind Charlton head north to Hartlepool United's Victoria Ground looking to follow up last week's 3-2 win at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

Substitute Neil Harris bagged a second-half hat-trick to secure a thrilling comeback for Millwall.

Hartlepool took a 2-0 lead into the locker room at half-time, but the Lions' record goalscorer turned the game on its head to seal the club's fifth straight away win.

Izale McLeod is back in training for Millwall after resuming his loan spell at the Den.

The Charlton striker was sent packing after a bust-up with manager Kenny Jackett last month, but could be back in the fold for the trip to Hartlepool.
