PM announces budget date

Gordon Brown has warned of tough times ahead for the nation's economy, in a speech at Reuters on Wednesday morning.

The Prime Minister also used the Canary Wharf event to announce the Government would lay out its budget plans on March 24.

Rupert died when the vehicle he was travelling in with American troops in south Afghanistan was hit by an improvised explosive device. Sunday Mirror photographer Phil Coburn was seriously wounded in the same incident.

Dr Paula Carey and Dr Colin Hills, scientists at the University of Greenwich, have developed a process to turn carbon dioxide into rock.

Gordon Brown confirmed today the G20 has agreed a fiscal stimulus package of more than $1trillion.

The International Monetary Fund will get $500billion split 50/50 between trade and Special Drawing Rights. There will also be $100billion for multilateral banks to lend to poor countries.

Wharf security guard Jonathan Ganesh, who was injured in the attack in 1996, was one of five delegates who met the PM for an hour long meeting in Parliament.
