This is Stephen Timms and the handheld gadget, a present from the British Computer Society after he was stabbed last year, has already made headlines when the Labour MP for East Ham was one of the very first to use the technology in the House of Commons.

Workers, police and politicians are beginning to tackle the mess left by a third night of rioting across the capital.

Roshonara Choudhry, 21, pictured here moments before attacking Mr Timms at constituency surgery at the Beckton Globe, had been found guilty by a jury at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

Stabbed MP discharged from hospital

Stephen Timms has left hospital as he continues his recovery following last week's attack.

The East Ham MP was discharged from the Royal London on Wedesday afternoon. He is now resting at his family home in Norfolk but said to be keen to "resume his constituency duties".

Party leaders have joined forces to speak of their shock after last week's stabbing of Labour MP Stephen Timms.

The MP for East Ham is still in hospital after he was attacked at a constituency meeting last Friday.

The MP for East Ham is being treated in hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach at a constituency event earlier this afternoon.

Stephen Timms, whose injuries are not said to be life threatening, is receiving treatment at the Royal London Hospital.
