West Ham cruised to victory over Hull last night but it was definitely a case of what might have been.

The Hammers produced one of their best displays of the season to totally outplay their visitors and it was only poor finishing that denied them a bigger margin of victory.

IT might not have quite been champagne football but West Ham produced plenty of sparkle as they cruised to victory in their first game under new boss Gianfranco Zola.

And star of the show was new signing David Di Michele who scored twice on his home debut as the Hammers outclassed a dispirited Newcastle side.
