Bradley Wright-Phillips is about to be unveiled by Charlton tonight in his first appearance since his move from Plymouth.

Colchester are the visitors to The Valley in what will be only Chris Powell's second match as manager since taking charge over a fortnight ago.

Pretty football went out of the window on Tuesday night as Charlton ground out a result against Colchester at The Valley.

A first-half header from Nicky Forster after excellent work from Lloyd Sam was the only goal but it was resilient defending which won them the game.

Charlton hope to return to winning ways as they prepare to entertain fellow promotion hopefuls Colchester United.

The Addicks may have Deon Burton back in the side if the striker and leading scorer this season passes a late fitness test.

Charlton signed left-back Johnnie Jackson on a month's loan from League Two side Notts County on Thursday.

The 27-year-old, who played under Phil Parkinson at Colchester United, has been brought in following injury to Grant Basey and is likely to start against Yeovil on Saturday.

Saturday's victory over Exeter City saw manager Phil Parkinson make use of two super subs - Izale McLeod and debutant Tim Breaker.

While McLeod was busy jumping around corner flags and showing his vest to The Valley's North Stand following his first home goal in two years, a more restrained Breaker was left to face the press.
