Spanish group La Mirada Transparente performed to a Cabot Square audience seated in old fashioned sun lounger chairs arranged under the plattorm.

It could signal a change of image for the stores in Cabot Place and Jubilee Place mall, with James Daunt - who will take over as managing director in July - promising every store would reflect the area they serve.

The former Squeeze musician is the patron of music at Boisdale's in Cabot Place and said it is bringing a world of top quality live entertainment to the estate.

The flagship Moss store will be the first branch of the Moss Bros retail chain to combine all its services under one roof. They are also launching Moss Bespoke, a tailoring service using the latest computer technology.

With a little help from a local music legend, Boisdale says it is planning to revolutionise Canary Wharf's live entertainment market.

As well as claiming the world's largest whisky bar, a cigar smoking terrace and fine Scottish dining, the venue, which is due to open in premises above Cabot Place mall on April 18, is also aiming to bring crowds flocking to its music hall.

The specialist burger chain opens on June 21 in Cabot Place, on part of the site vacated by Chilli's last Summer. Founder Tom Byng is confident it will prove a hit with diners.

The iconic jeans brand is set to take over the premises vacated by Oasis when it moved its store to Jubilee Place mall before Christmas. It should be selling its 501s sometime in the spring.

Beauty store opens at the Wharf

A new store has opened offering a range of spa treatments and beauty products.

O Spa launched at Cabot Place on Tuesday as part of a first round of openings by the company. The group, which has its head offices at 25 Canada Square, is due to unveil its initial store at New Bond Street today.

AA-oct29-chilis1.jpgThe former Chili's restaurant site in Cabot Place is to be transformed into an upmarket burger restaurant.

The premises will be taken over by award-winning burger chain Byron's, which has several other restaurants in London, including outlets in Kensington and Kings Road.

All week The Gentry Barbershop at Cabot Place is offering customers the chance to pop a balloon for five pounds and win a prize.

And any Wharfers in need of a temporary job after the recent spate of redundancies could swap book-keeping for book-selling at the Jubilee Place mall branch.

Wharf bookshops closing

aa-aug21-booksetc1.jpgBOOKS etc closes its doors for the last time in Canary Wharf tomorrow.


The area's only two bookshops, in Jubilee Place Mall and Cabot Place, will shut at 6pm on Wednesday when work starts to transform them into Waterstone's, who acquired the stores last month.

The length of time the shops will be closed has not been disclosed but could be up to two weeks.
